Final- Made in New Jersey

For my final, I created illustrated design packages for a fictional brewery based in my hometown of Jackson, NJ. The three flavors/types of ale each represent a different singer/band also from New Jersey.  I enjoy them all, but picked them especially because they each have a separate sound, come from a different time period and thus I could illustrate how each is unique.

This is The Stone Pilsner, which is my package design I based upon Bruce Springsteen.  The illustration mainly focuses on the boardwalk and shore of Asbury, NJ, a place that brought him both inspiration and fame.  The name is derived from the Stone Pony, which is an old bar/venue where Bruce played in his early days.

This is the Starswinger Lager, which I based upon Frank Sinatra.  While I know most of his fame is associated with New York, he was born and raised in Hoboken, NJ.  Given this, the illustration consists mainly of a shining New York skyline among some brilliant stars, with two figures dancing on a rooftop somewhere on the Jersey side of the river. Sinatra's music is optimistic, encouraging and smooth, and I tried to reflect this in the image and color choice. (Mainly blue of course.)

This is Annie's Ale, based upon the band Streetlight Manifesto, which comes from New Brunswick, NJ. Although not as widely well-recognized, one of their most known songs is about a girl named Annie who the lead singer tries to convince not to commit suicide. The figure on my bottle represents this girl. The rest of the illustration is based upon the themes of the music that include quite a bit about gang violence and the complications between heaven and hell.
