I couldn't decide on the text, but here are the images for the journalism assignment.

Partial silhouette sheet and four color study silhouettes for a series of player character private investigator characters and some of the "ghost" monster characters they would encounter. Final character sheets and turnarounds will be full, detailed character paintings based on the more polished silhouettes in the color studies.

The concept is a science fiction/fantasy world where people cannot truly "die" but where the trauma experienced by victims of violent crime often renders them unable to fully recover or report that crime on their own -- they become confused "ghosts" of varying levels of function until they recover, and usually require outside assistance to return to their normal lives. The detective character therefore needs to play both the role of an investigator and a sort of folk healer.

Two character turn-arounds and environment studies for my personal project, which is development for my comic Dead Man's Chest. Leah and Max are two teenagers who work at a pirate-themed ice cream shop called Dead Man's Chest. The skeleton building is the shop, and the other building is Max's house and bedroom where they spend most of their time.
