final project proposal (updated)

proposal:
I would like to make a series of 5 to 6 spot illustrations of rowhouse facades in Baltimore's neighborhoods, rendered in watercolor. I will use my own reference photos for the images. I would like to make each piece feel inviting and warm to showcase the unique features and personality of Baltimore's architecture and environment.

content
content will include the row houses and surrounding environment (trees)

audience
For children: can be used in children's book illustration.
For adults: an informational pamphlet about the surrounding neighborhood, or on a postcard from Baltimore.

schedule
Nov 21st: present proposal, revise idea, figure out palette, test different styles in sketchbook.
Nov 28th: have half of the finals done.
Dec 5th: all spots finished.

add notes if necessary: none.

Angela Zhang - mural sketches

Proposal for next project:
I would like to make a 3D papercut of rowhouse facades I find in Baltimore. It can be used in children's book illustration or in a pamphlet, both about Baltimore's neighborhoods. By next week I will have in-progress work of the final.

Angela Zhang - Elephant project sketches

Sketches:

Proposal:

For my project, I will do two or three 3D paper cuts employing light and shadow, and will photograph the results. I would like to show their sensitivity, intelligence, and exploratory nature. I also want to show their physicality while suggesting a sense of fragility. Because their environment is also being endangered, nature will also play an important role in the composition.
