Before this interview, I have always viewed Yusef Shokry from afar. I was familiar with his work, many of which evoke a sense of science fiction-retro flair. Born in Egypt, Yusef has lived an extremely travelled life, living in areas ranging from Israel, Ethiopia, to America. Due to this background, watching the news and keeping up with the politics within the Middle East is one of Yusef's many hobbies. His interests also include watching period dramas, such as the Venture Brothers and Black Dynamite, and of course, drawing on his cintiq. When asked where he sees himself in the future, he explains that he hopes to continue exploring the world, travelling, and ultimately become a concept artist somewhere within the states. He is very close to members of his family and enjoys spending time with his brother and sister
